Primes
A “Prime” refers to international defence contractors that are being funded by the Australian government to coordinate large scale weapons and military adjacent projects. Primes engage smaller contractors in Australia in order to produce parts or services for global supply chains.
For example, Lockheed Martin is a prime, and has contracted smaller Australian companies such as Ferra Engineering and Heat Treatment Australia (see below) to produce parts for the F-35 supply chain.
